Buckingham Palace and changing of the Guard: Buckingham Palace is the Queens Residence in Central London . It evolved from a town house that was owned from the beginning of the eighteenth century by the Dukes of Buckingham. Today it is The Queen's official residence, with 775 rooms. Entry to Buckingham Palace is via Ambassador's Court on Buckingham Palace Road . The Queen's Guard in London changes in the Forecourt of Buckingham Palace at 11:30am every day in the summer and every other day in the winter. The Guard comprises two detachments, one each for Buckingham Palace and St James's Palace, under the command of the Captain of The Queen's Guard.
